This ride will have lots of twists and turns so it
will be rated a level 4.5 ride on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being easy 5
being difficult). The total
distance of the ride will be 180 miles round trip.
This will be a full day ride expecting to get back to Roseville
around 4:00pm. We’ll be leaving Brookfields and turning left onto Eureka Rd. At Douglas will take a left to Auburn Folsom Blvd. Where we’ll turn right. This will take us to the Damn Rd. over Folsom Dam. At Natoma we’ll turn left and continue onto Green Valley Rd. where we’ll turn left. We’ll stay on Green Valley Road to El Dorado Hills Blvd where we’ll turn right. We’ll follow El Dorado Hills Blvd under highway 50 (at which time it becomes Latrobe Rd.) for approximately 20miles. (Latrobe Rd. has 16 miles of tight turns) This will bring us to Highway 16 or Jackson Highway, where we’ll turn left. We’ll follow 16 until the turn off for Hwy 49 where we’ll turn right. We’ll follow 49 through Dry Town, Amador City, Sutter Creek and then stop in Jackson for a break, gas, water etc. We’ll begin again on 49 south going through Mokelumne Hill (which has 3 miles of tight turns) on through San Andreas on to Angels Camp. In Angels Camp we’ll take a left at Murphy’s Grade Rd., which is a scenic back road into the town of Murphys. We’ll have lunch at “Grounds” which has sandwiches& salads etc. Murphy’s is a gold rush town that has cute shops for browsing. Depending on the interest of the group we could linger here for an hour if some want to look in the shops. We’ll basically be repeating the same ride home. For those riding from the south area of Sacramento you may want to continue on Highway 16 instead of taking the turn onto Latrobe. For those that live on the highway 50 side of town you may wish to get on hwy 50 at the El Dorado Hills underpass. We will be stopping in this area at a Chevron gas station to take a break, get gas water etc. For those that live on the highway 80 side of town
we’ll continue on to Auburn Folsom Blvd. |
